Academic & Business Consulting

I am an Interdependent Scholar and focus my work on transformation as a problem-solver, ethicist, story-teller, critical analyst, and dismantler of whiteness and white feminisms in education, research, healthcare, business, tech, and other settings. My bachelors degrees are in music (dual BA), bioethics (dual BA), & nursing (BS). I have masters degrees in religious studies (MA), research methodology (MS), & bioethics (MBE). My PhD focused on health ethics/communication and developed novel methods.

Most recently I was the Senior Scholar and Strategist and Chair of the Advisory Council to the University of California-San Francisco Thelma Shobe Endowed Lectureship in Ethics & Social Justice, held in 2021-2022 by Monica McLemore, PhD, MPH, RN (she/they). In addition to UCSF, I have consulted for The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia, PA), The Center for Urban Bioethics at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University (Philadelphia, PA), and Upswing Advocates (Chicago, IL). I have worked in academic and clinical nursing; academic medicine, bioethics, and philosophy; basic and social science research; and other areas.

I am a ‘DEI’ consultant to ‘DEI’ consultants, meaning that I can help those in ‘Diversity Leadership’, ‘DEI' consulting, actionable change management, etc. to understand how and why a given oppression is linked to white supremacy, whiteness, and patriarchy’s manifestations through colonialism, capitalism, and Christianity. I help them to understand the need for consent as part of this process and how to begin disrupting and managing their own internal(ized) and active oppressions, especially as they relate to ableism, transmisogyny, transantagonism in general, and whiteness as a whole. In addition to this service for ‘DEI’ consultants, I am able to provide this to individuals, departments, colleges, businesses, families, governmental units, non-profits, and other organizations.

I live in Chicago with my cat, who will likely join our meetings.
